Creating More Usable Outdoor Space
Parkdale Secondary College required reliable shade across both a seating area and adjoining grassed space, creating more comfortable areas for students to gather, rest and spend time outdoors.
Shade N Sails installed two Flexshade® Quartet 5MD units, selected as the most suitable structure for the footprint and intended use of the site. The design provides purposeful coverage without overwhelming the open school environment, helping transform these outdoor areas into spaces that can be enjoyed more comfortably throughout the day.
The structures feature Valmex FR580 fabric in Dust Grey, paired with a Deep Ocean powder-coated steel frame. The restrained colour palette sits naturally within the school setting while delivering a clean, contemporary finish.

Continuous Poolside Coverage, Carefully Planned
At Keilor East Leisure Centre, the brief called for broad, continuous shade beside the pool, while working within the constraints of a highly active public facility.
The installation includes two Flexshade® Quartet 14D structures and one Quartet 14S structure, connected with linked panels to create a more seamless shaded zone. This approach helped maximise coverage across the poolside area, reducing gaps between individual structures and creating a more cohesive result for visitors.
Careful planning was essential. Underground services needed to be identified and avoided, while clear access around doorways and evacuation paths had to be maintained. The final layout demonstrates how a tailored Flexshade® solution can respond to complex site conditions without compromising the usability or safety of the surrounding space.
Finished in Ferrari Soltis 502v3 Proof fabric in Anthracite, with Monument powder-coated steelwork, the structures bring a strong, refined architectural presence to the leisure centre while providing practical protection for pool users and spectators.
